Local Authorities Threaten Two Christians

Local authorities from six villages recently accused two Christians of illegally spreading a foreign religion. The Christians told the authorities, which included police and Communist Party officials, that the spread of Christianity was not their work but the work of the tribal people themselves. “They volunteer to come to Christ,” they told them. “They saw that animism is false. They see God’s power and believe in Him.” The officials said they intend to ban Christian worship and revoke citizenship from those who convert to Christianity. Furthermore, they warned, if any more people convert to Christianity the two Christian men will be arrested. Please pray that these believers will remain strong in faith even as they are rejected by their community. Also pray that God will open the eyes of the authorities to the gospel.
