Government Closes Eighth Church

Authorities closed and sealed another church building in Algeria recently, making it the eighth church closed since November 2017. On September 24, the police director in Boghni announced that a church building in Boghni had been sealed at the governor’s order. The church building served two congregations belonging to the Protestant Churches of Algeria (EPA). The EPA is a legally recognized entity that serves about 380 member churches. For the past two years, the government has been challenging these churches to prove that they have licenses, and it has not approved any license applications received since 2006. Pray for the peace, wisdom and guidance of the church and EPA leaders.
