Most Messianic Christian Churches Lack Official Approval

While a few Messianic Christian churches in Israel have been able to obtain official nonprofit status and its accompanying benefits, most of the more than 300 Messianic congregations in the country have not. “This requires legal work as well as the approval of the Ministry of the Interior,” said VOM’s regional director for the Middle East. “Most congregations face challenges in becoming official, government-recognized churches.” Pray that more Messianic congregations will be able to gain nonprofit status so they can function as publicly recognized churches.
