Fourteen Killed in Church Attack

At least fourteen people were killed after gunmen opened fire inside a church on Sunday, Dec. 1. Many others were injured in the church in Hantoukoura in far eastern Burkina Faso. Thousands of Christians have been displaced because of attacks in the last two years throughout the country, and between 4,000-5,000 Christians have relocated to the capital city from around Burkina Faso. “The church is wondering what the future holds, and how long they will need to provide help to their fellow believers,” the VOM field leader for West Africa said. Pray for the church in Burkina Faso to know how to best support one another and to prepare their congregations to face persecution for their faith. Pray that they will not operate under fear.
